Significant progress has been made over the last decade in the Middle East with regards to increasing access to education and providing quality learning to students across all demographics.
As we are at the beginning of this new year, it is important to look ahead and consider the key trends that will continue to shape and transform education in the Middle East.
Firstly, there is an increase in private education. With more and more parents wanting a holistic and individual-focused education for their children, the demand for private schools has risen and with that, we see a systematic increase in the launch of private education institutes to cater to this rising need.
Secondly, the student population in the Middle East is rapidly growing. Statistics say that Arab countries in the Middle East will have a young and growing population projected to about 293 million people by 2030, 42% of whom will be under the age of 25. Such figures only highlight a surging requirement for higher quality education.
While the government joins hands with private institutes to provide this quality education to its growing bevy of youngsters, they have also been taking initiatives to relieve the pressure off of parents too, by making paying education fees easier through quick online payments.
For example, Empay, a government-backed payments app, allows the residents of the UAE to make all education payments from home, at the click of a button. With that, Empay has also been working on adding a certified home-schooling course to its extensive list of dynamic facilities in the near future.
With such exciting innovations and technology, we can certainly postulate that the future of education for the young guns of the UAE may be full of invigorating change but will cause immense growth.
