Get Certified in Google Analytics in less than 2 days

Welcome to my blog post. This blog is for people who are confused over when to take the Google Analytics Individual Qualification Exam, aka the GAIQ. If you have ever wondered what Google Analytics is, what is this certification about, when to take the exam, or have never had the time to take it, then this is the right place for you. By the end of this blog, I hope you will get an idea of what your journey will be towards taking this exam.

Before you go ahead, it is important to know what Google Analytics is not. It is not a course in analytics about standard concepts like statistics or problem-solving. Google Analytics is a platform where combined with your analytical skills you can create various reports and analyze your data.

It was yesterday only that I cleared the Analytics IQ exam and received my certificate and decided to write this blog post. Now, what is the Analytics Individual Qualification (IQ) and why is Google offering one? The Analytics IQ is a demonstration of proficiency in Analytics available to every individual who has passed the GAIQ exam. It is basically to show that you are well versed with Google Analytics and understand it’s concepts. It is offered as a guide for beginners in Google Analytics and is also beneficial for knowledgable users. Qualified users are then able to leverage Google Analytics within their organization and help their business grow.

The courses and certification are free of cost which they originally were not. The certification used to cost $50 but is now free to take. Your certification also has an expiry! For many, it might not be a good thing but I think it’s great. Technologies are rapidly changing and Google is always coming up with new additions to their services. So, it is best to always stay updated. Your certification will be valid for 12 months from the date of issue and you will have to retake the assessment after that.

About the exam

The exam has 70 questions and you get 60 minutes to complete the exam. Questions can be multiple choice or true/false. The passing grade is 80% which means you will have to get 56 questions correct out of 70. Follow the steps and it will not be difficult. The questions are similar to the ones in the course assessment and that is why retaking the assessments will help you score better. You cannot pause the exam and unfortunately, if you face connectivity issues, the timer will continue and you can resume from where you left. The exam is available on Skillshop as I said before and once you pass your certification, make sure to locally save your certificate.
