Where to run in Lisbon?

If you are currently on or planning a trip to Lisbon and you too are a running addict, here’s a few ideas of running routes and places to run by during your stay.

Packed with historical attractions as well as bars and amazing viewpoints, it is the perfect place to witness the sunrise and enjoy Lisbon’s unique sunlight.

There’s no shortage of street art in Lisbon! From artists such as Vhils to Bordalo II, there’s a lot to be seen and explored. Although some pieces may not be that easy to find, it is definetly worth investing some of your time into it — it’s jaw dropping!

If you are looking to know a strikingly modern side of Lisbon, running by the Tejo river might be a good idea. Run by the Oceanarium, run through gardens and admire some street art and modern architecture. If you feel tired you can take a ride back on the cable car. This route is sure to keep stress levels low and help you mingle with the locals , as you’ll be met by runners of all levels, dog walkers and fishermen, specially around evening time.

If you enjoy nature and trail running, you’ll sure love to run in the Monsanto Forest Park. Being the largest green patch right in the heart of the city, it is home to many species of animals and plants, not to mention it is also a great place to run! Hidden between its lush forests, there’s a little known, mesmerizing, vantage point even most locals are unaware of.
