DaBaby Issues Second Apology for Homophobic Comments

This apology video was intended to make up for DaBaby’s previous apology, which he posted to Twitter on July 27th. This half-baked thread was heavily scrutinized for barely addressing his comments about HIV/AIDS and the LGBTQ+ community (and only apologizing to the former).

DaBaby has since issued a second apology on Instagram thanking those who reached out to provide him with resources and education on these topics, writing, “I want to apologize to the LGBTQ+ community for the hurtful and triggering comments I made. Again, I apologize for my misinformed comments about HIV/AIDS and I knew education on this is important.”

Dua Lipa, who collaborated with DaBaby on 2020’s “Levitating”, also released a statement on DaBaby’s homophobic comments, writing, “I’m surprised and horrified… I really don’t recognize this as the person that I worked with.”
