Alice is fleeing from an abusive relationship with 10-year-old Oren in tow.

The stars align when they get off the bus in Delphi, New York, and meet Mattie, who runs a shelter and crisis hotline.

A snowstorm brings with it the ghosts of their pasts, which they had hoped would be buried for good.

The supernatural elements were done well.

The short mention of politics was not overdone or in your face.

It was suspenseful, the pace was quick and keeps the reader’s attention.

Some of the characters aren’t well developed, the dialogue seemed off and immature, the book was confusing at times.

This book is fairly predictable, before page 40 I had almost figured out the entire book.
